LITTLE DARLING, THE SMILES RETURNING TO THE FACES

Minnie took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp night air into her lungs. While she normally found the calm of night soothing, the constant hustle and bustle of the city only seemed to worsen her current case of nerves. She knew she was being stupid though. There were hundreds of humans and vampires alike mingling in various clubs tonight, so there was no way Nathan James Avery was going to know she was up to no good when she casually approached him in the club. Her mission was simple enough. Seduce and distract Nathan while Will worked on getting blood supplies back to the other exiles. And she was quite happy to do it, having already grown bored of the droll life of an exile and was anxious for a change of scenery. This change of scenery had currently led her to the shadows of an alleyway beside Club Pure, waiting to go inside.
Of course, it hadn't been as easy as it sounded. She had researched Nathan for a month before she even departed for the city and had quite literally imprinted his face into her mind by looking at his picture over and over again. Minnie had memorized her back story by heart to avoid getting caught in a web of her own lies. There had been practices with how to deal with various scenarios. Will educated her on the going abouts of the city and gave her basic knowledge so she didn't look like a clueless tourist in the city. She had been given a small amount of money and told the places where Nathan frequented most at night. She didn't even know if he was here tonight or not, but she was nevertheless excited to go inside and party in a bar full of vampires, something she had never done before. If nothing else, it would be a fun experience.
Shaking her head at her own stupidity for waiting outside for so long, Minnie emerged from the shadows with a superior look painted on her face. The bouncer gave her a dubious look because she obviously didn't frequent this night club, but she presented the ridiculously expensive amount of money it cost to get in and he let her pass without a word. Every thing thus far in the city absolutely delighted her and Club Pure wasn't an exception. Only taking a moment to survey her surroundings with a bored expression on her face, as to avoid looking like a first timer gaping with her mouth wide open, Minnie made her way across the floor as if she'd done it a million times before. And, in her mind, she had and the music only served to fuel her growing excitement and confidence. Minnie had never been to any sort of club before and just the smell in the air was intoxicating. She knew that, no matter what happened tonight, she would certainly return tomorrow if she could. The door fee had been ridiculously expensive and, unless she wanted to risk getting caught stealing, she would have to go back to the exiles tomorrow. Yuck.
Minnie had only been her a day or so and she was already in love with this place. How could she not be? Everything was amazing and there seemed to be a great supply of blood. So, why did many move out of the city? Will told her stories of the corruption of the hierarchy run by the elite vampires, but she supposed she hadn't gotten the chance to see the negative side yet. Really, though, how bad was it to want to leave?
Pushing such thoughts aside, Minnie focused on her mission. She made her way over to the bar slowly, casually surveying people as they danced by. She didn't see Nathan. Of course, because nothing seemed to come easy to her nowadays. To blend in with the crowd, Minnie ordered a drink from the bar tender flashing her most charming smile and plopped down gracefully on a nearby couch. She slowly sipped on her drink as she people watched, indulging in one of her favorite activities while still working on the mission. She finished off her drink, feeling pleasantly buzzed and pursing her red lips slightly as she observed the inner happenings of one of the most interesting places she'd ever been.
